Liskeard Traders Association

About Us

Joining the LTA

The Liskeard Traders Association (LTA) was
originally formed by Maureen Smith and the late
Ron Davis in 2009, as the Fore Street Traders
Association.
The organisation has grown to support all traders
in Liskeard and the surrounding area. The LTA
were instrumental in opening the Pannier Market
in 2014 with the help of Mary Portas and Pete
Valance from the Co-op. It has been a hub for
start up Businesses with a Community Spirit, a
very popular "Bus Stop Cafe" and varying stalls.
It supports regular themed activities in the town
centre including the regular activities held in
Liskeard such as Carnival Week, St Matthews
Fair and Christmas Lights Up. We also organise
our own events such as the Easter Bonnet Parade
and Fun Days.

As part of the ever growing and exciting Community Event, The Liskeard Ploughmans Festival, Liskeard Traders Association hosted a
Scarecrow Competition. The turnout was good and some of the Scarecrows were Excellent. Here are just a few of the pictures from the
day.
The Liskeard Traders Association are actively
seeking new Businesses to join the fast growing
list of committee members to help shape the
wonderful town of Liskeard. As a member of the
LTA you can help promote the town and in
return hopefully increase footfall and passing
trade. The LTA members have already
successfully "dressed" Fore Street with beautiful
hanging baskets and benches during daytime
trading hours. These are a favourite among
customers and passers by who come to admire
the quirky cobbled street.

CHRISTMAS FUN DAY - In the lead up to the big event, Christmas Day itself, The LTA like to put on some festive cheer in and around the
Town in order to help people get into the festive mood. In particular, the Annual Santa's Grotto is always a treat for the Children where they
have a chance to meet Father Christmas himself and receive a free gift. This year entailed a "Frozen" theme and even included Snow ...
well, fake snow.

Bonnets, bunnies and blooms made for a colourful day of fun in Liskeard on Easter Saturday. Local Morris side Cats Eyes from Dobwalls led
an Easter bonnet parade through Fore Street, where about 30 entrants showed off their creative headwear. Events such as the Easter Fun
Day give a big boost to the towns independent traders and is something the LTA have been doing for the past seven years. Photo's Courtesy
